And! we are always on the lookout for potential troupe dancers. That being said, many of you are looking to "try on" belly dancing and take classes for sheer pleasure and fun.There is no pressure to do otherwise. Becoming a member of Raqs Shuvani is by invitation or audition only. >>CLASSES resume in FALL of 2009. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFO CAREFULLY!: This will be determined strictly by interest level. The first thing to be taught is a new Drum Solo (which traditionally closes a show) and is an energetic way to jump in! >>IMPORTANT: space IS limited, so your deposit NOW insures that your spot is reserved for the fall! >>CLASS DESCRIPTION: Students will be intro'd to BD basics: history, basic steps/technique, working with diverse rhythms, and lastly, intro to diverse styles w/primary focus on Egyptian & Turkish Romany (Gypsy) styles of the dance. Folkloric, as well as classical and contemporary will be thrown into the mix as things unfold. >>Lastly, I will continue to offer Private/Semi-private classes - for Intermediate - Advanced only.
